ADULT WOMEN ALERT!
Are adult women more susceptible to fraud with Artificial Intelligence (AI)?
Yes, adult women may be more vulnerable to the new forms of fraud that may now arise with Artificial Intelligence (AI). Although AI was designed to improve our lives, evildoers have found how to use it to do harm. Here, we tell you why we are good prey to the new AI and then direct you to what to do to protect yourself.
Attention! Let's start with a shocking example. Every time we publicly share videos with images and voice of our family, we expose ourselves to being victims of AI fraud. Only a few videos with voice are needed, so that with AI they can be cloned. They can create a fake video by copying faces and voice to send you a video call or message telling you that your son(or daughter) has been kidnapped, asking for help (and you hear it's their voice) and asking for ransom money.
A horror movie for anyone. It may sound a bit exaggerated. However, it is a very easy fraud to do now with AI, and ideal for adult women. Why? Well, the thugs know that young women might not even have children and are less likely to have a lot of money. On the other hand, an adult woman may have more money, adult sons (who may not have even seen them today) and would do anything for them.
Why are adult women a more common prey among scammers?
I have already given you an example and here I am going to give you more reasons why we can be more vulnerable, although new frauds will always appear, since technology continues to progress. In the end I give you options of what to do.
1. Less Familiarity with Technology - We didn't grow up with today's technology and because of its constant change it's difficult to keep up.
2. Increased Social Media Presence - Most of us use social media to stay in touch with family members, friends, organizations, companions, etc. All this facilitates access to our environment, to our information, which was confidential until the moment we uploaded it to the networks. The evidence that anyone can see what we do on the internet is that as soon as we search for something we start receiving related ads.
3. Confidence in Voice and Image - Women are very visual, auditory and react to videos/voice quickly. Once anyone has access to details of our life, they can use it to create images, audio, and videos to trick us and use it for blackmail and/or extortion.
To protect yourself, you must have secret passwords to make sure that the person they show you in the video is who they say. Example: "Baby love is it you?", and he/she answers; "Yes, mommy", and also makes a pre-defined signal with his head or hands (a "yes" with his head, or make a "thumbs-up"). Below I will give you more details on how to protect yourself.
4. Less Knowledge About Modern Frauds - We're not as aware of new AI frauds. Scammers are constantly on the lookout for what's new in AI fraud. Remember, it's their job, they make a living from it. They are always up to date on the latest technology. You must keep up.
5. Increased Risk of Financial Fraud - As I told you earlier, there is a greater probability that an adult woman's finances are stronger than those of a young woman, that they have savings and valuable assets.
If we add to all this our emotional nature, the speed of our mind, and our multiple worries, we can understand how easy it is for a stranger (who gained access to our information), to gain our trust, deceive us and use the information obtained to their advantage.
For that and many other reasons, we are a better target for scammers, but don't worry, there is a way to hit them hard. You just must educate yourself.
There are many common frauds with AI, even when you go to send money by cell phone they warn you of possible fraud. You must prepare.
If you want to know more examples of common frauds and how to protect yourself (e.g. "phishing", "deepfakes", online shopping, bank alerts, double ID, etc.) just read our article: AI SECURITY FOR DAILY LIFE, How to protect yourself from new frauds created with Artificial Intelligence (AI)?, in our Black and White AI Facebook Group (if you have not joined yet, you can do it by copying and pasting the following link into your browser: https://rb.gy/nwfa9x .)
This is how we adult women will stay protected and alert.
